This gives students the chance to think about their future and choose modules based on the career pathways that they're most interested in. We host a series of seminars given by industry professionals to talk to students about what they can do with their physics degree. ![]() In the first year of our course, one of the modules is taught through problem-based learning and involves direct collaboration with industry employers. You will experience group projects that will build your confidence and capabilities in team working, problem-solving and communication - all desirable skills for real-world physics careers. LEARNING EXPERIENCEĬollaboration is core to our values, so we strive to embed this as a learning objective throughout your studies. Learn more about the current course modules in the section below. Throughout your degree you will explore the whole breadth of physics, including advanced topics such as quantum mechanics of atoms, molecules, nuclear and particle physics, and wave optics. You will also apply your knowledge while using mathematical and computing techniques to solve complex physics problems. COURSE DELIVERYĭelivered over three years - or four with a placement year, you will study a suite of modules designed to embed theoretical knowledge, build career-focused skills and help you become a world-class scientist. Watch course videos and find out all about living and studying at Bath by visiting our Physics Virtual Experience page.Led by our research-focused academic team, with strong industry links and laboratory-based learning, BSc (Hons) Physics at Salford delivers a programme where you can explore the laws of physics, make new discoveries and see how these can be applied to drive innovation in industry. Physics with Theoretical Physics is for you if you want to study a broad physics degree with less emphasis on experimental laboratories and a stronger focus on theoretical, mathematical and computational aspects of physics.Physics with Astrophysics enables you to apply the full breadth of physics to a wide range of astrophysical phenomena from star formation to black hole growth and the expansion of the Universe. You'll be able to master the logic, rigour and proof of mathematics alongside the universal principles of physics. Mathematics and Physics is for you if you enjoy and excel at pure mathematics and want to apply that to the study of physics.Physics is our broadest degree and gives you the opportunity to explore a wide range of areas, from the fundamental theories of physics to cutting edge applications. We offer four physics courses at Bath, with each available as a BSc or an MPhys/MSci: Some courses also include a research placement in the final year, giving you the opportunity to spend six months in a leading national or international research institution. We offer full support for your application and have links with many well-known companies in the UK and abroad, and overseas universities. Add to your experience with a professional placement, study abroad or a research placementĪll our physics courses include the option of a professional placement or study abroad. You’ll develop a strong understanding of the underlying theories of physics combined with practical experience from lab sessions, projects, mathematical modelling and computer simulations. From the discovery of the Higgs boson, to the observation of gravitational waves or the development of quantum computing, physics is at the heart of some of the greatest discoveries of our age.Īt Bath, our courses explore the fundamental laws underpinning the universe, from subatomic to cosmological scales. ![]()
